Wax returns for a one off special gig.
After dominating the Perth cover scene for nearly ten years, the powerful and exciting sonic boom of 6 piece band WAX will return for a very special gig in November 2019.
The enduring line up, with the incomparable lead vocal team of Graeme Smailes and Gemima Mead, will bring back their slick and polished live performances of rock’s greatest – playing the best of Queen, Bon Jovi, Pink, Van Halen, Alanis Morrisette, Metallica, Guns ‘n’ Roses and more.
Widely hailed as one of Perths best bands from the “noughties”, their professionalism shines with uncannily realistic renditions of rock and roll’s favourite hits.
“Close your eyes and you seriously think you’re listening to the fucking real thing” says one fan who recalls her days of dancing away back in the day at iconic Perth venues like the Lookout in Scarborough and Paramount nightclub in Northbridge.
“They sound so good, so true to the real band, it’s almost unsettling” – not a bad endorsement from one of Australia’s best sound man, Tony Bryan, who once worked the mixing console for WAX and is now working for Aussie rock legend, Jimmy Barnes.
“They command their instruments, they’re professional to a fault, and they are massively entertaining” says Perth music legend, John Goldsmith.
Panning out the musical line up is Ben Romano on keys; Duncan MacKintosh on bass; John Zaccaria on drums and new starter Leon Todd on guitar.
This is a seriously welcome return!
